Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, Alpha, along with the rest of the north east felt the ravaging effects of the "Halloween Nor'easter". Early in the week, forcasters were predicting moderate ammounts of snow with isolated power outages and downed trees with this early in the season snow storm. But as the storm came rolling through in the late morning, it was soon to be found out that this storm was one for the books. All over the area, trees and wires were down, power outages were occurring, and roads were being closed. It was then decided by Captain Fag an that additional EMS and Rescue staffing would be needed throughout the day and night. A dedicated 3 person rescue crew, and 2 EMS crews stood-by at station throughout the afternoon and night time to ensure a safe and quick response. The rescue crew also answered all EMS calls to assist the ambulance crews with any difficulties they may have encountered. Luckly Though the effects of the storm were strong, the squad only answered 6 calls during storm.
