Sunday, January 1, 2012 On New Years Day a firefighter down drill was held at the station. the drill's main idea was to teach EMS personal how to efficently remove firefighters PPE in the worst case scenerio that leaves the firefighter unresponsive. The drill scenerio was 2 firefighters pulling a "down" firefighter through the doorway to an open area where EMs personal awaited. The only information availabe was that the firefighter collapesed inside the structure. EMS had to doff all of the firefighters PPE in order to administer proper first aid. The drill proved a successful learning experience for all. Hopefully it never has to be put to use. Thanks to Ivan Duffy for the Idea.
